My blog will be a place where I can present my ideas and opinions on sustainability, world issues, particularly international development and also on my friends the squirrels. This is my first ever time writing a blog, so thank you for taking the time to read it! There's gonna be a lot of learning going on for me, from how to write in a blog style, to understanding how to use all the software that's running under the bonnet! There's already been significant wetware issues going on (and I loved learning that term too... google it, it's safe to do so at work!).
As a Yorkshireman, I feel that today is a very auspicious day to start my blog as it's Yorkshire Day 2021! In order to keep it focused most, but not all, posts will focus on three main themes, as presented below
As covered on my, 'About the Blog' page, I have three main themes for the blog:
- ‘Reimagining York’, where I will present some of my thoughts and ideas on how to make my hometown a sustainable city, in the hope of sparking a conversation on how to deliver sustainability there.
- ‘The Avenues’, where I wish to discuss sustainability efforts where I currently live, Peterborough, Canada.
- And finally, ‘RCI Archives’, where I will be listening to old interviews from Radio Canada International on world issues and how things have progressed.
Over the next few posts I will be presenting a fuller introduction to each of these themes and explaining how I will be using some of the key terminology in the blog, such as what I mean when I say sustainability. Aaaannnnd then I will actually start posting some actually thoughts and ideas!
I hope that all of you readers will enjoy this journey as much as I am hoping to with the writing of it. And oh yes, happy Yorkshire Day 2021 to everyone!
